Welcome!

As you can probably tell from the heading of this blog, Brian and I have some big news to announce...

I have created this blog specifically to chronicle this exciting season in our lives as we await our first little one. Our life is quite crazy and unpredictable, but I will try to update this blog for family and friends, and my own memories, as often as I can.

There is not much to write at this moment - I really do not care to bore you with morning sickness details - except for I, unlike my mother, am suffering from this uninvited guest (morning sickness, not the baby :-D) and look forward to the 2nd trimester!

I had my first doctor appointment this morning & L.O.V.E. my doctor -- actually makes it even harder that we will be moving to the DFW area in a few months, but I'm already praying for a wonderful doctor in our new area to be waiting for me! Dr. M said that everything looks great. All they did today was normal blood work, flu shot, and sonogram. In 4 weeks, I'll have a longer appointment with the nurse to go over every thing, another exam, and we'll get to hear the heartbeat. I've got to admit - today went by WAY too quickly and it was WAY too surreal. When Dr. M turned the screen towards me, I knew what I was looking at, but it was so hard to believe it was actually inside ME and not a friend or some random person on TV. We saw the little heart (which kind of looked to take up about half of the little one's whole body at this point) fluttering away, and even caught a tiny little involuntary body movement. I'm wishing we had taken our little video camera to capture it, but I was just so nervous about the appointment in general that I wasn't thinking about the video camera.
