The first thing that makes me smile is that 6 months ago I married my Prince Charming!
During this difficult beginning to my pregnancy, Brian has been the most selfless and loving husband. Which leads me to the next thing that makes me smile today.
Goldfish.
I have been having a hard time eating today, so when Brian sacrificed his lunch hour to run to the store for me, I tried to think of some snacks that would be easy to eat and had at least some nutritional value. Goldfish have done a wonderful thing for me today!
Next is Pretzels.
Pretzels go quite well with Goldfish - so I have learned today :-)
And of course, to wash this yummy snack meal down, Ginger Ale!
After learning that ginger was good for nausea, I quickly remembered my childhood love of Canada Dry. Although I am getting tired of drinking soda quite frequently, when compared with the nausea induced by drinking large amounts of water, I am loving on some Ginger Ale. Does it really help with the nausea? I honestly wouldn't be able to tell ya...but it helps more than water!
And finally, Popcicles!
These have saved me, albeit momentarily, from some pretty nasty nausea. Earlier today I ate 3 within 15 minutes. I think it's the cold, deliciousness that helps the most! I would not have made it until Brian came home at lunch without these delicious little smiles on a stick! Strangely, grape has been my flavor of choice. Very strange considering I've never really been a fan of grape flavored food items...se la pregnancy...
Here's to enjoying marriage and some tasty snacks!

ohhh i loved goldfish too!! and ginger ale!! i swore by goldfish washed down with a caffeine free coke. the salty/sweet combo was so good!!
ReplyDeleteMan...Brian called from HEB tonight asking if I'd like some caffeine free coke (since before I got pregnant, Coke was my sustenance, sadly) and I said no thanks because I wasn't sure I'd like it...I might just have to try that out :-)
ReplyDeleteAnother good salty/sweet that I liked when pregant and ALWAYS had with me in my purse was trail mix...of any kind of mixture. I liked making it with raisins, m&m's, peanuts, and pretzels (or goldfish :)).
