Pintervention Party II

It's that time of week again! I love this little "party" Stephanie & Nicole are hosting! It's so fun to see others' ideas that they found on Pinterest and their interpretations of the ideas in their own home!

We're in the middle of moving, so all of these things are things I've done in the past and I don't have too many left that I didn't share last week. Rest assured, after we move, there will be TONS of fun projects going on! The majority of what I've had time to do is recipes...YUMMY!

This is the.very.best jambalaya I have EVER tasted! Double bonus? It's a weight watchers recipe!! I will definitely be making this again very soon :-) YUM!

Aside from the fact that the pie looks nothing like this picture (particularly the crust), and I added 4x the amount of salt needed (1 tsp instead of 1/4 tsp...oops!), this pie came out REALLY great! It's also a WW recipe and at only 3 PointsPlus a slice with some fat-free cool whip...DELISH! It seems like at first you notice the absence of fat & calories, but the texture is wonderful and after that first bite (and if you don't eat a bit of "real" pumpkin pie right after), you don't notice the difference!

I am not a fan of cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving or ever, really (I know, *GASP*), but my sweet husband can't have Thanksgiving without and and the canned stuff is just not good enough for him. A few years ago, I sought out to learn how to make it...the first time was like cranberry soup and the second time turned out great, so I decided I could explore a new recipe. This recipe uses Splenda instead of sugar (I used 1/2 cup of the Splenda/Sugar blend) and adds in some spices. Brian said it was the best cranberry sauce he had ever tasted...will keep this "recipe" around for a while :-)

I think that's all for this week, but I promise there will be more exciting things to report in a couple of weeks! I will probably sit out of this fun little party next week, but will be sure to jump back in after we settle in and I have time to do some GREAT things around the house that I've pinned!

What have you done?

16 Weeks

This Week Brynlee Ann:
  • Got to visit Aunt DD and Karley in Marshall!
  • Met Uncle Craig & Cass for the first time!
  • Began taking naps in her own bed (2, 2 hour naps, with a 1-1 1/2 hour nap in between)
  • Visited Auntie Nita & cousin Kelsey in San Antonio :-)
  • Slept through mommy & daddy & Grandma Kaki screaming in excitement for Baylor beating OU for the first time ever! Sic 'em Baylor & Sic 'em RGIII!
We are blessed with two beautiful girls! Karley K & Brynlee Ann playing on the floor!

I think someone is smitten...instant bond between those two! Gotta love Uncle Craig!

Pintervention Party

My friend, Stephanie, is hosting a fun new way to get encouraged by Pinterest - a Pintervention Party where we get to share all the fun things we actually do from ideas we find on Pinterest.

I've done a few things from Pinterest that I have LOVED and a few that just didn't turn out well. Here are a few inspirations & final products.

The buttons on my creation show up more white/solid, but the flash made them look translucent. This will go on Brynlee Ann's new room (that she gets in 2 weeks!!)

Inspiration

My creation
Making pillowcase dresses requires having tons of ribbon. I had just been throwing the spools (do you still call them spools when their on this big thing?) in a bag and grabbing them out when I needed to use them, but how simple is this? It only cost all of $3 to be organized!

I don't have a picture of this, but I made this bow with ribbon the exact same way as it says to make it with paper and it turned out awesome!

And just one more thing for today...

Happy Pinning - now get out and do!

15 Weeks

This Week, Brynlee Ann:
  • Met Great Grandpa Davis - he's funny and likes to play patty-cake and whistle!
  • Had a surprise visit from Granny Nanny & Papa John at Great Grandpa's house (that was the best surprise all month!)
  • Began "Operation Nap in Our Own Beds" - Brynlee Ann thinks it's fun to scream bloody murder for 30 minutes and mommy is too soft and it hasn't worked out too well, yet. But I'm confident we'll get there. She's a CHAMP at night in her bed, but naptime has been another story!
  • Showing her "daddy's girl" side - she absolutely lights up when Brian's around. This adorable, smiley picture? Compliments of her daddy.
  • TRIED so hard to roll from her back to her tummy on Sunday...and hasn't tried since!
Sweetest.picture.ever. Great Grandpa Davis loving on his sweet great-granddaughter :-)

  • Picked up a rattle and shook it
  • Attended her very first Baylor Homecoming Bonfire and Parade!!
  • Got to see her "Aunt DiDi" and Karley
  • Started adjusting to the time change...not loving it!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I guess it's seeming like I blog every-once-in-a-while...I don't like that, but life is busy and blogging is just a fun way for me to chronicle our life and taking care of life, mainly my sweet Brynlee Ann, is my first priority :-) So, since it's Wednesday, I'm linking up over at This Kind of Love for "What I'm Loving Wednesday."

I only have one thought on my mind today and it truly is what I'm loving today.

I absolutely, hands down, no question about it, with all my heart, LOVE being a part of the body of Christ!

I love having these ladies to lean on in all situations, and I love that these ladies have wonderful husbands that they can rely on in all situations, and I love that we are all there for each other, especially in the desperate times of need.

Tonight we will join as a group to pray for one of these couples who is going through one of the toughest times I could ever imagine facing as a couple. We will pray for peace. We will pray for understanding. We will pray for wisdom for doctors. We will pray for physical healing. We will pray for a miracle. We will BELIEVE in the miracles of Christ. We will BELIEVE that He will work a miracle. And we will cry...we have cried. We will continue to cry out to the Lord on behalf of this couple.

2 Samuel 12:22
He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.’

This evening at 7pm CST, we will join as a group for prayer. Will you please join us in prayer for this couple? The Lord knows exactly who, exactly what, how and exactly why. Please allow the spirit to move you in your prayers.

I pray that each of you reading this today will know the peace and love of being a part of the body of Christ.

Do you love being a part of the body of Christ?

13 Weeks/3 Months

WOW! Talk about being behind! Brynlee Ann will be 14 weeks tomorrow and I'm just now posting this? I'd like to say that I had it all typed up and just forgot to publish it...but that's not the case. I'd like to say that I took the picture ON her 13 week/3 Month birthday...but that's not the case, either. I did take the picture on Sunday...when she was 13 weeks and 4 days/3 months and 3 days, and I don't really think she grew that much in 4 days, so this will have to do. At least I took it, and at least I'm posting now, right? Does this ADORABLE picture make up for it?

This month, Brynlee Ann has/was/is:
  • Really started liking her hands - if she is playing & making noises, then finds her hands, all noises stop and she just stares at those strange things! She has also decided that they are the most tasty things in the whole.wide.world.
  • Traveled to her very first wedding...and is getting ready to travel to her second wedding!
  • Still HATING tummy time. I try so very hard to be entertaining during tummy time and she just wants nothing to do with it...I guess I'll have to explain to her why she has a flat head in about 13 years!
  • Wearing all 0-3 month clothes
  • Wearing all size 1 diapers (Target brands are my faves for disposables, but I am LOVING our Fuzzibunz!)
  • Starting to talk more
  • Taking naps in her swing - if she sleeps in her bed, she'll only sleep for about 30 minutes, but if she sleeps in the swing she'll sleep more than an hour and this mommy likes needs that hour!
  • Loves to smile at you if you're smiling at her :)
  • Drinking 5 oz per feeding (if she gets fed with a bottle...if she nurses, I'm pretty sure she gets more)
  • Eats every 3 hours during the day and sleeps anywhere from 8-10 hours at night! Brynlee Ann - Mommy & Daddy (and I think your fursister, Abbey) all appreciate this so much!
  • Got another set of shots at 3 months - we're rollin' on our own schedule, no judgement please. I promise my sweet babe will be all taken care of with no diseases! She hardly cried for these!! Praise the Lord!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Goodness gracious, I have been slacking on blogging! I'm just not motivated and I have so much going on at home right now (it's the busy season for Scentsy, PRAISE THE LORD! mixed with making dresses, packing, and spending every waking hour loving on my sweet babe), I just don't feel like I have the time to write stuff that people may or may not care about. I do blog mostly for my memories, and I absolutely love keeping a timeline of Brynlee Ann's growth -- I've already looked back at all her weekly updates to remember how far she has come :-D -- so today I'm most definitely going to join the party for "What I'm Loving Wednesday"

I am reminded why I love blogging as I look through all the precious memories of my sweet Brynlee Ann over the past 13 weeks of her life and through my entire pregnancy from the very beginning (which is the whole reason I started this blog)!

I can't believe she is so big and she's sitting up so well!!

I absolutely love ADORE (this is obviously a deeper form of love) our small group Bible study! The only picture I have of us is the ladies at a joint baby shower for me and my sweet friend, Stacy, and several ladies are missing. Before we move, we must have a picture of all of us! Life would be so hard, and probably pretty boring, without these other couples in our life! Each relationship strengthens and encourages Brian and I in such a deep way and we are so so so so so sad we will be moving soon, but that surely does not mean these friendships will be lost!

I am loving...wait for it....Can I get an "AMEN" or this next one?....THE WEATHER!! The days could not be more beautiful, and the nights are so cool with such a nice breeze that we sit in our living room with the front door open and just marvel at God's goodness every night!!
I LOVE this little snuggle buddy!! Please do not leave me comments about how unsafe it is to have Brynlee in my bed, the safety and well-being of my sweet bebĂ© is my first priority, but sometimes this momma just needs to snuggle and be comfortable, too! I was able to relax today while cuddling with this cutie patooty and I just LOVE her!!

Ultimately, the biggest loves are my two babies! I think my hubby is pretty amazing...especially when he's taking care of our daughter! This was Brynlee Ann's first ride of Daddy's shoulders this evening! Brian's smile just makes my day...love him!
